Is trade-insight free?

Yes, fully. For news you'll need your own Finnhub API key (free tier is plenty). AI summaries are included — we operate the AI layer centrally so you don't need a separate account.

Do you store my Trade Republic data?

No, we do not store them. Your Trade Republic events live in your browser's IndexedDB, locally on your device. For the analysis the app sends them to our server, which computes and then discards them. What stays on our server is only your account (email, password hash), your encrypted API keys and what you assign yourself: the identifier and ISIN of positions you annotate or file under a depot.

Does it handle warrants, knock-outs and derivatives?

Yes. Calls, puts and knock-outs are tracked as their own positions, accounted for FIFO. Worthless expiries and redemptions with residual value are recognised. The cost basis matches the TR app — automatically tested against 21 truth cases.

What about reverse splits and mergers?

Both are handled automatically by the FIFO engine. Reverse splits rescale the share count while the cost basis is preserved. In mergers the cost basis is transferred 1:1 to the new position (example: Bitfarms → Keel).

What is the CSV path (TR Transaktionsexport)?

The TR transaction export is the simplest option: TR app → Profile → Account statements → Transaction export → Share → drop it here. No PIN, no app confirmation. The CSV contains all trades, dividends, interest, saveback, and position adjustments (splits, mergers, worthless declarations). What's missing: savings plans are not tagged as such (they appear as regular buys), and pending/cancelled orders are absent. If you need savings-plan tagging or full order status, keep using all_events.json.

Which CSV data actually gets stored?

Only securities transactions: trades, dividends, interest, saveback, position adjustments. Card payments, transfers, top-ups, and gifts (anything classified as CASH/CARD_TRANSACTION, CASH/TRANSFER_*, CASH/CUSTOMER_*, or CASH/GIFT) are discarded client-side before anything is written to browser storage. Counterparty names, IBANs, and payment references are additionally stripped from every row — they're never persisted to IndexedDB at all.

Do I need a Trade Republic account?

Yes, otherwise there's nothing to compute. Three paths: (1) TR transaction export (CSV) — no PIN needed, just share from the app; (2) export all_events.json and upload it; (3) log in straight from your browser with phone + PIN — we then pull every event in one go.

Which data leaves my browser?

Your trades never leave the browser. On the news tab we send the ISINs of your positions to Finnhub (with your key) and the article headlines to our centrally-managed AI layer — both server-side so your key is never exposed. Your Trade Republic events stay strictly local.

Where does the server run?

On IONOS in Germany (EU). There's an Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement in place. Backups land encrypted on the same server — no off-site or third-country transfer.

Tax breakdown per Steuerjahr?

Today we show realised gains/losses per position per year in the CSV export. A full tax breakdown that splits §20 EStG shares / §20 derivatives / §23 crypto with the €20k loss cap is the next planned feature.
